Carla Toscana - Videographer-Musician-Singer
As a sound and film expert, as well as an accomplished singer, Carla Toscana knows the importance of technology in today's complex world of music and film making, which often requires not just one's natural-born talents, but acquired, sometimes decidedly advanced, software skills as well.
Toscana grew up in a family that can claim more than a passing
acquaintance with the Muse that is the creativity. Her mother an
accomplished opera singer, and her father a videographer whose
professional focus was documentary films. |
"When my father began making films, editing was done in a linear
format, and then, with the rising popularity of the PC,
non-linear editing became commonplace. Once, knowing how to
operate complex hardware was the norm, but today, software
editing is king."
Growing up with her family in Buenos Aires, Toscana was exposed to the "old school" of working with video images and sound, however, as a child of the computer age, she found herself experimenting increasing with software solutions when she wanted to create a video clips for clients, or when working on projects for herself as a singer and composer. Finding the right software did not prove easy, though.
In 2003, Toscana moved to the U.S. to pursue graduate work at Columbia University in New York, and while the city proved very cosmopolitan, and college life exciting, making the kind of video and music her heart aspired to make, was problematic at times. " I searched for music-editing software that was easy to use and full-featured, however, at times this seemed to be akin to a search for the Holy Grail."
A New Kind of Software
In 2004

Audio4fun.com's software. Since that time she has become a loyal fan.
